A Big and Beautiful WWI scimitar display propeller from Paragon of Baltimore, MD for the Classic Curtiss JN-4 "Jenny" with the Curtiss OX-5 engine in Excellent Condition.

This wonderful propeller features 7 laminations of Mahogany, excellent copper edges, original decals, extensive engravings, beautiful wood grain and finish. The 8 bolt holes match the Curtiss OX-5 engine (water-cooled V8 cylinder making 90HP). The Signal Corps. number shows usage for WWI. We believe this propeller was manufactured around 1916-18. The Curtiss JN-4 "Jenny" was the classic training aircraft of WWI and the premier barnstorming aircraft after the war. Paragon was a Baltimore based Propeller manufacturer that built propellers during WWI to support the war effort. This is a beautiful example of their craftsmanship.

Engravings: 8' 3" X 5.00 RIGHT HAND *1714* (also a small signal corps. "cloverleaf" insignia)

Condition: Very nice for a near 100 year old WWI propeller. Original decals (very nice condition), excellent copper edges, no rot, no delamination, original finish,a small trailing edge crack on one blade, a few scratches, a few flecks of paint, wonderful wood grain, rare mahogany construction (most JN-4 propellers were constructed with Oak), beautiful scimitar shape. This propeller displays beautifully.

Dimensions: Length 99" Hub Width 7 1/2" Hub thickness 4"

The aircraft pictured is a 1918 Curtiss JN-4D with the Curtiss OX-5 engine and a Paragon propeller (formerly on display at the Virginia Air Museum, Richmond, VA)

A Wonderful Propeller for a Classic WWI aircraft for your Home, Office, Hangar or Collection. The Paragon scimitar OX-5 propeller is one of the most desirable and classic collectable propellers available (of all the propellers we have owned, this is what we keep on display in our den). This is an excellent example in beautiful condition.
